From Lake Tahoe to Truckee to Emmigrant Gap, There are many subdivisions near mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking trails: to name a few, Tahoe Donner, Serene Lakes, Norden, Soda Springs, Northstar, Glenshire, Prosser Lakeview (hiking & motorcross park), Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Northstar, Sugarbowl & Homewood (OHV Trails Tahoma).

The Sierra Nevada Mountain range is 250 miles in length, 50 miles wide and has it's highest peak is 14,000 feet. Rock Climbers, mountaineers and hikers come from all over the world to climb & hike this mountain range.   

Lovers Leap is located off Highway 50 near Strawberry, and is great for single and multiple pitch routes with lots of varietyfor everyone. 
Donner Summit is the largest climbing area in the region. Located off old Highway 40 west of Truckee, it has 400 different routes that lead to endless possibilities for any climber. 

Twin Crags is just north of Tahoe City off Highway 89 and is great for beginners. The 90 Foot Wall in Eagle Creek Canyon near Emerald Bay offers beginners the opportunity to gain more experience.  Split Rock is hidden atthe west end of Donner Memorial State Park and offers almost every style of climbing.  

Experience the Tahoe Rim Trail! Founded in 1981, it is a hiking trail that will circle the rim of the Tahoe Basin. It is 165 miles long and also accommodates bikers and equestrians.

Check out the famous Truckee River Bike Path, which goes along the north and west shores of the lake. Emigrant Trail is an easy going trail along Prosser Creek and Stampede Reservoir. The Flume Trail is a classic Tahoe trail with amazing lake views and the Hole in the Ground Loop at Donner Pass.
