Last week, Housing Starts and Building Permits...
were reported lower than expected and the NAHB Housing Market Index showed housing to be at a 17-month low. But home loan rates, meanwhile, continue to remain at historic low levels. We'll be closely watching Friday's Gross Domestic Product report for a good read on the economy - typically, good economic news causes Home Loan Rates to rise while bad news has the opposite effect

As Jobless Claims and Producivity levels...
came in worse than expected last week, money flowed out of the Stock Market and into the Bond Market. Overall, Bonds and Home Loan Rates ended last week where they began - which is at historically low levels! If you or someone you know has been thinking about purchasing or refinancing a home, now is an ideal time. Even if you're not sure what you want to do, a brief conversation can provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.

30 year fixed mortgage rates are at their lowest point...
dating back as long as this historical data tracking has been kept! Bonds and home loan rates were able to benefit from a poor Jobs Report last week. Remember, weak economic news often causes money to flow from Stocks to Bonds as traders seek to protect their investments in the safer haven of Bonds. As a result, Bonds and home loan rates ended the week slightly better than where they began

A mixed bag of strong and weak...
economic news last week resulted in a slight improvement for Home Loan Rates - 30 Year Fixed is hovering around 4.25%! Now is the time to take advantage of the lowest rates in nearly 50 years! Stocks danced higher as strong earnings reports continued, with more than 3/4 of the S&P 500 companies who've reported 2nd quarter earning beating expectations. Conditions in Europe look to be improving. The bank stress tests appear to have helped conditions overall, and brought some strength to the Euro and also to our Stocks, which improved on the news.
