Whether you’re an avid road-cycling warrior or prefer the more rugged terrain through Sierra peaks on mountain bike, North Lake Tahoe is home to events and competitions that appeal to a wide range of recreational enthusiasts. Here are our top seven for summer 2017:
June 24 | Tahoe City
Starts and finishes from Commons Beach, and features a Lake Tahoe swim, as well as mountain biking in Burton Creek.
July 15 | Northstar California
Features a 2-loop, 50-kilometer course filled with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. Rocky summits and breathtaking pine forests are found in every direction.
July 22-23 | Donner Lake
One of America’s longest running triathlons is celebrating its 36th year. This “must do” race features a climb up Donner Pass and finishes on the shores of Donner Lake.
August 19 | Incline Village
The extreme course takes riders up and down the scenic flume trail and connects Lake Tahoe swimming and trail running.
August 26-27 | Sugar Pine State Park
This tri starts and finishes from iconic Sugar Pine Point on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Athletes swim in the lake at Sugar Pine State Park, ride around Emerald Bay and run along sandy beaches.
Oct. 8 | Tahoe City & Truckee
The 2nd annual race gives you the choice between mountain biking or trail running around Truckee and Tahoe City. Compete as an individual or team on either a classic or elite course.
